> The Diderot effect applies not only to material items but to ideas and knowledge as well
Luxury Beliefs and the Midwit Matrix applies here. The former is ideas that are utopian and only applicable to the upper middle and upper classes to feel less insecure about their merit being "not of the people". The latter are ideas that are clearly made by the comfortable middle ("woke") and/or lower middle (conspiracy) classes to scapegoat people for ritualistic purposes. These typologies are worth writing for later, but for now it seems that this problem has been diced too many ways but no unifying hypothesis has been made (yet).
