Howdy folks,
How did you start your work week?Â
Monday anxiety is common around the world. But it is only evidence that many people hate what they do. I hope that is not the case with you. But if it is, this newsletter will help (I know it's Tuesday already). You can use these insights to improve any given day. Try them.
HOW TO MAKE AN INTERESTING DAY: THE BURNING BUSH PRINCIPLE
There is a peculiar story in the Bible about a shepherd and a bush. Here is an excerpt;
"Now Moses was tending the flock of Jethro and he led the flock to the far side of the desert. The angel of the Lord appeared to him in flames of fire from within a bush. Moses saw that though the bush was on fire it did not burn up. So Moses thought, 'I will go over and see this strange sight-why the bush does not burn up.' "
We are all Moses in the aspect of going about our daily jobs with diligence. Where the divergence happens is that many of us would walk past a burning bush without looking closely. Moses' story took a different turn from there. What about yours?
The good thing about oiling your curious engine is the ability to spot life changing ideas, materials, and experiences with ease. What are you doing with your curiosity?
I am glad every morning or afternoon or night when I open my keyboard to write. Since writing is an exploratory activity for me, I can never get tired of it. With this singular habit, I have developed color in my life that I would otherwise have struggled to attain. That could be you too.
Curiosity, imagination, adventures, and exploration is part of what makes us human and alive. Unless you are okay with being a soulless but efficient flesh-robot, fan the embers of your imagination. Ask yourself why the bush burns without it being consumed. Example, find out why something works and why it wouldn't work at your job.
There are billions of unanswered questions, and unanswered questions breeds dissatisfied people. When you fire up your curiosity, you will satisfy yourself and others with answers. But the best part, you will walk on 'holy' ground.
When next you see something strange that stirs your interest, try to ask why. When next it gets all drudgery, do this; just ask why.
This is Busyminds, and I am wishing you a productive and exciting work week.Â
Ciao.
